Greetings from home! Although I've enjoyed this fantastic time off, I have been busy prepping for the next couple of weeks leading to finals. But it is nice to see my family at this time of year. When the hectic schedule sometime frazzles me, I appreciate coming home a lot more. I occasionally get homesick because I have younger siblings and I don't want to miss out on their lives because I'm at school. But as the quote says "Absence makes the heart grow fonder" and I have found it to be completely true.
For Thanksgiving this year, the student organization I'm involved in, along with many other organizations donated canned goods to others in need of a Happy Thanksgiving. Donating the cans to some seemed gratifying, and to others as a nuisance, but to those families that recieved the cans - they finally had a complete holiday dinner that they could share with each other. It was a great feeling that as a college student, you can help out so many by doing something so small as to donate cans. A little goes a long way!
I feel as though I've neglected my posting duties, so you will definitely be hearing from me more often in the next few weeks!

Jeans and Hoodies, My Favorite Time of Year!
What makes me absolutely love Clarion is the beautiful turning of the leaves during autumn. It's so pretty up here, it's just like out of a movie! I love jeans and hoodies weather. It's just so comfy and cool at this time of year, it makes you want to grab a cup of hot chocolate! Autumn Leaf Festival was a lot of fun, and there were a TON of people! It was great to see some alumni from years past on the streets during the craft show. I didn't get anything this year, but next year I have my eye on a few pieces of jewelry I'd like to buy!
As much fun as ALF was, it didn't compare to what I got to do Sunday. I volunteered to work the Junior Olympics, an event where children 5-12 had basically a fun track and field day. The children were such a joy to work with! They competed in the "javelin throw" (which consisted of a small nerf toy), ran races, and jumped the long jump. It made me so happy to see the children having so much fun, I got such a charge from it.
As far as school is concerned, midterms just ended last week for me. I seem to be doing pretty well in all of my classes, which is always a good thing! :)
This week our organization (Athletic Training Students Association) have a pizza and ice cream social for the freshman that want to enter the athletic training program. I'm excited because I love meeting new people, and I really want to get to know them and let them know we are all there to help them out with anything they need.
Well! It's time for my next class - Developmental Psychology - so I'll catch ya later!

Back at It Once Again!
It seems as if I just left this place yesterday, and now I am back for another full year at Clarion! I’m so excited to be back at school with all of my friends, since all I did this summer was work, but something’s different about this year. I’m in my third year of my major, and I feel as though I’ve finally found my niche as an athletic training student. I can’t believe I have made it this far! I cannot fathom that in only one more year, I’ll be a senior, ready to graduate!
I moved up to Clarion a month early to work with the football team for pre-season. It’s been pretty hectic trying to keep up with their practice schedule and my own class schedule, but it all has seemed to work out well. My classes range from athletic training classes to math and psychology. I have to admit, I’m a little nervous for psych, since I’ve never really taken that kind of a class before. I’m very excited for my therapeutic exercise class though! I take it in Becker in their ITV room, where we have class on television with students and faculty over at California University of PA , where part of my degree is coming from.
Another thing I’m excited for this year is going out for the track and field team. I threw the shot put and discus in high school, and decided this past year to join the team here and see what I can do! So far I have met a few of my teammates and coaches who seem really awesome, and I’m excited to be able to compete after so many years.
Well I have to get going! I work football practice this afternoon, and then it’s off to the library to get some studying in! More later!
